Nick Fonarev, LSW, is an experienced social worker at Hudson River Care and Counseling, both virtually and in the office in Teaneck, New Jersey.
Nick received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Columbia University in Manhattan, New York. He also earned a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He is currently working towards his clinical social work licensure (LCSW).
At Hudson River Care and Counseling, Nick offers clients a compassionate, non-pathologizing, and creative setting to integrate challenging life experiences, uncover inner healing resources, and realign with core values. He treats various mental health concerns, including trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, grief and loss, and substance use. Services provided by him are under the supervision of a qualified clinician in accordance with the New Jersey law.
Nick is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS), integrative harm reduction psychotherapy, and psychedelic preparation and integration. He draws from modalities such as acceptance and commitment therapy, somatic and sensorimotor psychotherapy, and polyvagal work. Nick believes in meeting clients where they are while exploring opportunities to elevate harmony, courage, and play.
