Joanne O’Dell

Bio

Joanne is a student intern at Hudson River Care and Counseling. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University. She developed an appreciation for the field of mental health when she was on the receiving end of therapy and her life was radically transformed for the better as a result. Because she was the recipient of so much healing, she has since dedicated her life to sitting in the counselor’s chair, offering others the same opportunity to resolve past hurts, traumas, anxiety, depression, stress, and other areas of concern.

As a child of immigrant parents, Joanne understands the struggles of those who feel as though they need to balance two very different worlds – the country their family originates from, and the country in which they live. After years of confusion regarding her identity, she has finally come to understand who she is and what she represents. Now, she is proud of her Korean heritage and is also proud to be an American. She is eager to help others who are confused about their identity, especially those who also come from backgrounds that are very different from the land in which they live.

Joanne has a strong Christian faith and is happy to incorporate prayer into the counseling sessions if the client so desires. She is happy to treat those who share the same faith as well as those who do not. Her counseling services are open to all.

Joanne offers both in-person and telehealth counseling at HRCC.
